Rustin Luther was a staple in the local music community and never met a person that didn’t become a friend. Rustin was such a caring soul, often times he would stop and buy food for the homeless sitting outside grocery stores or leave food and water on the porch of his business for the people that lived in tents by the ravine behind the building. He would go out of his way to help the people around him and provided a place for young musicians to be heard. He helped push musical groups to new heights and gave them the feedback they needed in order to succeed.

In 2017 at the age of 31, Rustin Luther passed away from terminal brain cancer. During the 15 months of his diagnoses Rustin found his love for pedicures. He was often seen out and about sporting bright green toes. Rustin was full of life and loved showing it off! Unfortunately, those 15 months were some of the hardest times for himself and his family. Stress runs high when you’re living with a terminal illness or caring for a family member that is, and often self-care is the last thing on anyone’s minds.

The Rustin Luther Foundation was formed in 2020 by Jennifer Mitchell, his significant other of 6 years. She wanted to find a way to give back to the community in much the same way Rustin did while he was alive. The Rustin Luther Foundation provides skincare services for cancer patients and their families as well as cancer survivors. Living with a cancer diagnosis can be devastating and we would like to be a place where families can come and rejuvenate.

THE RUSTIN LUTHER FOUNDATION

“Rest and self-care are so important. When you take the time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.”
